Our community of food rescuers grew by over 300% in 2025. From students to families to office workers, South Africans from all walks of life are choosing to rescue food rather than let it go to waste.
CO₂ impact equivalent to 300 trees
By diverting 71 tonnes of CO₂ from landfill, our community achieved the same carbon offset as planting 300 mature trees. Food waste decomposing in landfill is one of the largest contributors to methane emissions globally.

From independent bakeries in the Vaal to hotel restaurants and grocery chains, more businesses than ever are turning their surplus food into revenue and reducing disposal costs at the same time.
